So some of you have read how my Mountain Fresh and Sweet Orange & Chilies 8 oz soy travel candles are going to be in the celebrity swag bags at the GBK Productions 2012 Golden Globes Gift Lounge, right? Well if you haven't, scroll down to read about it. I've been saying it all over the place, but apparently some haven't heard it!(In a couple of weeks I plan to get very obnoxious about it, so enjoy this!) Also...you might recall that a display of my bundt cake soaps and tea cup candle will be on display at this same gift lounge as well!
Well...let me give you a rundown now that my products and display are safely out of my house and in the hands of Valerie of The Artisan Group. It started in October when I decided to sign up for the Golden Globes gifting. It is not something you go into with a flippant heart. It costs a little bit of money to get into the event, but it is something I feel I just had to do at least once in my lifetime. The requirement: 100 relatively small items to gift celebrities, all wrapped in something that would keep business cards in tact with the product itself. Also a display piece that was not too big, but had enough of a presence to catch the eyes of celebrity and press alike!
So let's get down to the meat of it. 100 of anything to me these days just is not a big deal. I can do 100 candles in 2 days....1 day if I do it from 7 am - 7 pm. BUT...it is a big deal when you get three wholesale orders exactly a day after you sign up for the Golden Globes! This was truly an, okay Dee, breathe deep and make a timeline or nothing is going to work moment! First things first, two of the wholesale orders were relatively small so I got those knocked out right away. One of the orders had some candles...so I just set up extra candles for the Golden Globes and in no time at all they were done! The doing was the easy part...it actually took me over a month to package them!
Anyway, I will reveal my 1/2 page in the gift flyer, and the rest of the story tomorrow!
