Rose Colored Lenses and All That

So when it comes to business, I'm tempted to take the rose colored glasses approach.  Oh everyone will love everything I put up for sale because I love it...but, the reality is, some things just simply don't make it, or, they do better in one location than they do in another...and some things do not sell at all online, but sell like gangbusters in boutiques and craft shows.

Anyway...there really is no point to this post except that I see in forums alot of hoo ha about why my stuff doesn't sell and this and that.  All I can say for good advice is...make everything you are good at and enjoy making, and whatever absolutely does not sell just stop putting it up for sale.  Business is hard work...HARD HARD WORK.  No one became an overnight sensation just by putting their products up for sale and then not promoting themselves.  No one ever made millions on an idea without letting everyone under the sun know about it.  There is a reason why people who do infomercials do so well.  There is a reason why we have blogs and Facebook and Twitter and networking sites.

And now on to something else:

In conclusion....I have taken the next step in my business.  I am getting ready to delve into large scale wholesale.  Also, I have taken the plunge and some of my products will be on display at the GBK Productions Golden Globes Gift Lounge in 2012..so excited!  Also, the swag bags will have an item of mine in them.  So nervous, and so excited at the same time!  I've been spending the last few days deciding what I want my display will look like and what kind of gift to include for the swag bags...goodness me!
